Explore, Create, and Play!

3rd Sunday of each month (except December), 1–4 p.m.

Bring the whole family to the Taft Museum of Art to experience a free afternoon of great art, hands-on fun, family-friendly performances, and animal encounters. Most activities are ongoing throughout the afternoon, so stop by when you have time and stay as long as you can.

FREE. No reservations required.

Art Around the World | June 16, 1–4 p.m.
Celebrate cultures from around the world this Funday! “Travel” to different countries found in the Taft collection, visit the L’Affichomania exhibition, and create your own paper plate necklace inspired by the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania. Enjoy a bilingual English and Spanish musical performance by Evan and Vanessa at 1:30 or 2:30 p.m., followed by a traditional Indian dance performance by the Nrityarpana School of Performing Arts at 3 p.m.

Seating is limited for the performances and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Vive La France | July 21, 1–4 p.m.

Celebrate all things French at the Taft! Practice your French at the Art Cart, create a mini poster to take home, and view L’Affichomania exhibition. Be on the lookout for a wandering mime from Cincinnati Circus, 2–4 p.m. Learn about French macarons in a cooking demonstration* by OCD Cakes at 1:30, 2:30, or 3:30 p.m.

Seating is limited for the cooking demonstrations and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
*Demonstration includes food items that may have been exposed to nuts.

Gone Fishing | August 18, 1–4 p.m.
There will be plenty of fish in the sea at this Funday! Make your own foil fish; search for rivers, lakes, and oceans in the Taft collection; and create a fish or sea creature out of water at the Art Cart. Learn about our local bodies of water and how to help prevent their pollution while meeting fish from the Newport Aquarium at 2 p.m.
